Most fans of Deep Space Nine will recognise Morn, the strange-looking alien seen frequently in Quark's bar. Morn was actually Quark's best customer, which makes sense when you learn about his dark past.

Morn was an interstellar criminal.

He was involved in an operation called the Lissepian Mother's Day Heist, where he was able to escape the planet Lissepia during their Mother's Day festivities with 1,000 stolen bricks of gold-pressed latinum. Morn, a criminal genius, realised that he would soon be caught so he swallowed the liquid latinum and hid it away in his second stomach until the statute of limitations expired. Because he could no longer be prosecuted for the crime, Morn became the legal owner of the latinum.

We learn all of this in the episode Who Mourns For Morn?, in which the statute of limitations finally expired and Morn faked his own death to throw his accomplices of the heist off of his trail, and keep them from stealing a portion of the stolen latinum.

Eventually, Quark helped Morn deal with his accomplices and in return Morn offered him a portion of the latinum.
