Star Trek: 12 Characters That Deserve Their Own Series

1. Khan Noonien Singh & The Eugenics Wars

Star Trek Khan

Quite possibly the greatest singular villain in all of Star Trek's history, Khan is a monumental character and is beyond Shakespearean in many of his appearances. While the current climate in terms of Star Trek Into Darkness is an interesting one, a subject I've written editorial pieces on for other websites. We all have to agree, regardless of standpoint on the current incarnations. Khan is still king! One of the most sought after backgrounds in all of the Trek universe, in terms of books, comics, and expanded story material. Khan's Noonien Singh's origins, including, his role in the Eugenics Wars between 1992-1996, and his eventual exodus with 84 of his followers using the Botany Bay, would be a highly followed subject. At least among the most hardcore of the fandom. If done with the right amount of tweaks, could maintain a mainstream audience. Especially in the wake of the recent Bad Robot films.

A series like this may technically be extremely "un-Trek-like", as it is all pre-warp space travel, and focused more terrestrially on Earth; however, it would still showcase one of the darkest periods in trek-human history. That period of time being extremely short, Khan's rise to power would span about 4 years. The battles between other augment leaders, the end of the Eugenics war and Khan's exodus, all could potentially be accomplished in a 4-5 season series.

Do you have any favorite character or spinoff ideas in mind that you think would make a great Trek series? Comment, share, tweet, pin, form some words, join the conversation.

I'm a writer, a published author, and editor for a small independent publishing house. I'm an award winning producer of independent media, and I get to edit books, screenplays, and comics in my day to day. I love working on independent film & games, during my down time, as well as reviewing films while gobbling down milk duds (it's an addiction, I know). I've been called "Geek-Prime" among my peers for all the fandoms I work in, and I wear that title proudly. It's a passion, and an exercise in my growing profession, to get to write about what I love. Which happens to be a little of everything. But mostly film, comics, horror, games, anime, literature, and life. I do write about academic material, like politics, medicine, physics, and mathematics too. But for the most part, I like to keep things down to earth and simple. Follow me on Twitter & Facebook
