Star Trek Characters That Must Return (2026)

14. Seven Of Nine

Though our hopes for Star Trek: Legacy seem to dwindle with each passing announcement (or lack thereof), it is hard to part with the dream of seeing Jeri Ryan's Captain Seven Of Nine leading her own Star Trek series. The Enterprise-G was only beginning her adventures - surely that can't be it?

The recent announcement of the Legacy comic book series may just have been that final nail in the coffin for a live-action return for this former Drone. If that is the case, we feel that it does a disservice to the promise made in Star Trek: Picard.

Here is a character who has been a part of the franchise for three decades. Here is a journey that didn't stop at the border of the Delta Quadrant but rather continued into a tough look at the way Starfleet operates. Seven's journey may not have been the primary focus of Picard as a series, but it is easily one of the more engaging.

Watching her hold to herself as an individual, then a ranger, then as an officer, the audience gets to experience Seven's growth alongside some of the universe's most venerated names. That, to us, displays the strength of the character and the strength of the performance. Seven of Nine, Captain of the USS Enterprise, deserves a return to live-action. In keeping with the spirit of Star Trek's birthday, this truly feels like a gift to the fans.
