Star Trek: Discovery - 12 Easter Eggs You Need To See

2. Those Classic Sound Effects

Yep, that's right, Star Trek: Discovery has sound effects. Lots of them.

And they're not just your typical, 'beep boop' science-y sounds either - they're ripped straight from Roddenberry's original series. You can hear as much when Discovery focuses on the Shenzhou's bridge, with switches, dials, scanning noises and more all borrowing heavily from the old show, much like the J. J. Abrams reboot did in 2009.

They're easy to miss if you've stayed away from the franchise's earliest incarnation, but for fans of that classic series it's another great nod that really helps Discovery feel like the authentic prequel it's surely meant to be.
