Star Trek Discovery: Every Easter Egg & Hidden Reference From 'Far From Home'

Zareh speaks a "pidgin" variation of the common tongue spoken by our 23rd century Starfleet heroes, referring to Saru and Tilly as "V'draysh".

The term V'draysh was previously used in the Short Trek "Calypso", set in the distant future and featuring Craft, a soldier at war against the V'draysh. While it's not made clear in the episode itself, "Calypso" writer Michael Chabon explained that V'draysh is a corruption of the word "Federation".

There's been a lot of speculation about how the new season would connect with "Calypso", which may or may not be set in a time period around the 32nd century. The producers have been vague when asked about whether or not Craft or other elements from "Calypso" might appear in season three, but this is the first sign that these two stories might be intertwined.

A cut scene from last season's finale, "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2" established that the AI in "Calypso", Zora, was created to replace Control, but that reference didn't really make sense and was thankfully excised from the episode before it aired.
