During the bar fight, Saru whips out his keratin-based darts and shoots Zareh with them.

Saru developed this natural defense after he underwent vahar'ai last season in "An Obol For Charon", shedding his characteristic threat ganglia for the new pointy weapons. The Kelpien previously demonstrated his ability to instinctively shoot these darts in "The Sound of Thunder", but "Far From Home" is the first time we've seen Saru deliberately deploy his natural defenses.

Here's hoping we see Saru show off more of his newfound fighting skills this season and also bring back that backwards horsey kick he used in season one's "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum".
