Star Trek Discovery: Every Easter Egg & Hidden Reference From 'That Hope Is You'

While much of Hima appears to be barren, the planet is home to a trading outpost called the Mercantile, jointly operated by Star Trek: The Original Series favorites, Orions and Andorians.

The Mercantile was filmed at a previously used location, the Hearn Generating Station in Toronto. This is the same location Star Trek: Discovery's production team used for the wreckage of the medical ship USS Hiawatha in “Brother” and Section 31's base, Essof IV, in “The Red Angel” and “Perpetual Infinity.”

The location in "That Hope is You" has been heavily redressed and modified with CGI holographic billboards, many of which are written in Orion script.
