16. Cosmo's Traits
Book's ship the Nautilus is being pursued by Cosmo Traitt, played by David Benjamin Tomlinson who previously portrayed Discovery's Saurian science officer, Lunus.
Cosmo is a Betelgeusian, the first of his kind to appear in the franchise since 1979's Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
While the revised makeup in this episode makes Cosmo look a bit like that orc that tried to eat Merry and Pippin in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, the characteristic pointy nose and ears, and cheek folds definitely resemble the Betelgeusian background characters from TMP.
