Star Trek: Every Chief Of Security Ranked

Despite the abundance of Star Trek TV shows we have today, many people think back on the original series with love and nostalgia. The names of the original crew will forever be remembered in pop culture and Pavel Chekov is no exception.

While it’s true that Chekov played a more varied role than some of his fellow senior crew members, this does unfortunately mean that his role of Chief of Security somewhat fell by the wayside. In a show full of Captain Kirk being the go-to action hero, Chekov’s combat skills fell shy of remarkable.

Through his exaggerated otherness and his Russian misconceptions, Chekov’s demeanour is made up mainly by the fact that he is Russian and his whimsical presence. While certainly entertaining, this does not make him a particularly good Chief of Security.
