Star Trek: Every Lt. Barclay Episode Ranked Worst To Best

Star Trek Barclay
CBS

The third episode of Star Trek: Voyager's second season brings Barclay over into the Delta Quadrant, explained away in that he was part of the team that designed the Doctor's original program. The episode works best as a bridging episode, one joining the Next Generation with Voyager, without beating the audience over the head with it.

While Barclay is a welcome addition to the show, the episode is one of Robert Picardo's first true opportunities to shine. Though he had previously been the star of Heroes and Demons, it is this episode that sees him truly come out of his shell. Barclay, the man who lived on the holodeck and struggled to tell the difference between reality and fantasy, is the perfect character to help him/hinder him here.

While this first episode would only tease the uses that Barclay would have for the Voyager crew going forward, he was an excellent guest here, seeming to truly fit with Robert Picardo in their first moments together.

Sometime in 2004, Kris decided to edit a video for a laugh. Well, the joke was on him it seems because now he has to come to WhatCulture and do it every single day. All that's really changed in that time is that now he exports to YouTube instead of a VHS. Yes, an actual VHS, that's how long he's been honing his craft.
