Star Trek: Every Lt. Barclay Episode Ranked Worst To Best

3. Endgame

Star Trek Barclay
CBS

Endgame is a fantastic, if abrupt, ending to Star Trek: Voyager. Though it does not manage to tie-up all of the storylines from the past seven seasons in as satisfying a manner as, for example, All Good Things did for Star Trek: The Next Generation, it does manage to offer an exciting, cinematic finish to the Intrepid class ships's journey home.

Throughout the show, Barclay had become a defacto member of the crew, serving from Starfleet Headquarters in an attempt to get the ship home faster if possible. He manages to make contact with them and continues a relationship with them, all while battling his own inner demons. The sections of the episode that are set in the future show him as having advanced in rank, far more confident and sharing a seminar series with Admiral Janeway.

His interactions with the Doctor are a particular highlight of the episode, showing him to be able to depict true anger, despite it masking his need to cover up Janeway's actions. There is a great interplay between them as he tries to keep the secret. Even at the episode's close, when the audience is shown young Reg again, he feels just as much a part of event as anyone else on board the ship.

Though there may be no more adventures with Reg on the horizon, this was a great ending to a brilliant arc.

Sometime in 2004, Kris decided to edit a video for a laugh. Well, the joke was on him it seems because now he has to come to WhatCulture and do it every single day. All that's really changed in that time is that now he exports to YouTube instead of a VHS. Yes, an actual VHS, that's how long he's been honing his craft.
