Star Trek: Every Medical Officer Ranked

9. Tracy Pollard

Star Trek Medical
CBS

Following the death of Star Trek: Discovery's Doctor Hugh Culber in "Despite Yourself", Doctor Tracy Pollard stepped in to become the show's de facto medical officer in "Vaulting Ambition" and an additional six episodes.

We don't know much about Pollard other than her cheeky bedside manner, "Almost dead: You." We do however know that Doctor Pollard is another in the long, proud line of Trek doctors willing to let her patients undergo questionable procedures, as in "Vaulting Ambition" when she allowed a captive L'Rell to perform a bizarre, finger-wavy Klingon species reassignment on Voq / Ash Tyler. In "An Obol for Charon", Pollard cleared Saru for duty almost immediately after he endured the metamorphosing Vahar'ai, further indicating that Pollard's medical standards are... liberal.

Doctor Pollard ultimately joined the Discovery crew in "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2" for the big leap into the far future where there must be more questionable medical procedures and decisions awaiting her wherever the Red Angel has led.
