Boimler and Mariner give Tendi a tour of her new assignment, stopping by a very clearly labeled cutaway map of the USS Cerritos, which designates the ship as California-class, registry number NCC-75567.

This type of cutaway (or MSD – master systems display) is common aboard 24th century starships, featured at the back of the bridge of the USS Voyager, USS Defiant, and Enterprise-E.

Like all of the control panels aboard the Cerritos, the LCARS-style displays originated with scenic artist Michael Okuda way back in Star Trek: The Next Generation and are a hallmark of that era. In an interview with Wil Wheaton for The Ready Room, Lower Decks creator Mike McMahan expressed his (and the series') love for Okudagrams, stating that they were even incorporated into the non-interface aesthetics of the Cerritos, including the bridge's ceiling.

The Cerritos MSD contains all the usual Federation starship tech, Bussard collectors, warp coils, computer cores, and (yes) turbolift shafts extending from the 11-deck saucer to the (at least) 3-deck secondary hull below.

Among the many "ops" Boimler points out on the map of the Cerritos, he cites Cetacean Ops as one of the coolest places on the ship... and a famously unseen part of the USS Enterprise-D where the crew apparently kept super intelligent dolphins. For reasons.
