11. Rutherford's Thingie
During the previously mentioned tour, Boimler, Mariner, and Tendi encounter Ensign Rutherford; as of a few weeks ago, a recently cybernetically enhanced engineering officer.
Rutherford's prosthesis is apparently Vulcan in origin (hence the pointed left ear) and occasionally suppresses his emotions in favor of logic.
His enhancement is reminiscent of Lieutenant Keyla Detmer's cybernetic implant in Star Trek: Discovery and this is the first time we've encountered a human with this kind of augmentation in the 24th century.
