Star Trek: Picard - 7 Ups & 2 Downs From Stardust City Rag

1. The Plot Really Thickens

Star Trek Picard
CBS

For all the complaints about Picard taking ages to actually get going, about it being far more obsessed with the story it's going to tell, rather than the one it is telling, this episode finally put that to bed. We're here now, in the midst of this fascinating story, and we're traveling at warp speed. Maddox has served his role, we know where Soji is, the conspiracy around the Synth attacks is coming to the fore, and Agnes has made her move.

It was undeniably a slow start, but with all the pieces in place now there's the perfect amount of time left to run through it all. The probable pacing of the last few episodes feels genuinely exciting, and the stories they've crafted for them are each fascinating in their own right. What does Agnes know? How does it connect to Mars? How does it connect to Soji? Is the Federation responsible? Tune in next week to find out.
