Rios and Auntie Raffi head back to the La Sirena after they're gifted with some kind of purple, marijuana pipe that the synths say will repair their ship if they use their imagination. Before she goes, Raffi tells Picard she loves him and he says he loves her too in his gruff Picard way. It's a nice change from people screaming at Picard all season, but that's not going to last long.

But really what was that purple thing that Arcana gave Raffi? Like the gigantic space orchids, this tech has an organic quality to it that's a contrast to the mechanical nature of the people using it. Are the synths on Coppelius like the Cylons in Ronald D. Moore's reimagined Battlestar Galactica, incorporating organic components with machine technology?
