Star Trek Picard: Every Major Character Ranked

4. Seven Of Nine

Star Trek Picard Seven of Nine
CBS

When it was announced that Seven would be in the show, the collective fandom lost its mind. And for good reason. With her initial appearance startling anyone who didn't watch the opening credits, her first episode proved slightly divisive. The murder of Bjayzle seemed quite out of character but thankfully this is addressed later in the season. The new straight talking, hard drinking Seven was a huge departure from the Seven of Voyager but it works in the confines of this show.

What came out of nowhere was the maternal relationship to Elnor. It was both sweet and surprising - his childlike view on the world versus her battle hardened take on things. She clearly cares for him and if this is a relationship that is to continue, then it is something that could become a highlight of the show going forward.

And then there's Raffi. Seven's romantic inclinations were touched on in Voyager but never explicitly explored. That shot of the two of them interlacing hands - it may become a romance, it may simply be a friendship. What is clear is that both women have seen and done a lot in their time. The two of them would make a strong pair and would be a team unlike any the franchise has seen before.

Seven's stand out moment though is her exchange with Picard. He is the only other person who truly understands her struggle. It is quiet and it is beautiful.
