Star Trek Picard: Every Major Character Ranked

2. Raffi

Star Trek Picard
CBS

Raffi Muskier is the stand out new character from Star Trek Picard. There was a little back and forth in the beginning when they were trying to show her as the damaged but brilliant officer that she really is, but once she settles into the swing of things it is clear that Raffi owns every scene that she is in.

Michelle Hurd is an absolute credit to the show. She is maternal and yet in need of care. She is proficient and yet can ask for help. She is both the Ex-O and one of the crew. She's everyone and she's a cut above the rest. Her relationship with Picard is more honest and open than we have previous seen him engage in. Even the bond we know he shares with Riker and Troi is a very difficult, slightly more separated one. Picard knows that she needs a mission and he gladly accepts her as part of it.

Its hard to give her enough praise. Aunty Raffi, a new favourite title, is just brilliant. Though she seems both angry and bitter in the beginning, she is in fact a deeply caring and kind person. Her son's rejection is a crime that must be corrected going forward, especially with her vindication. It remains to be seen whether her Starfleet commission will be reinstated but what is clear is that Raffi Musiker is a fantastic gift to the franchise so is Michelle Hurd.
