9. Family Ties
LeVar Burton himself dropped a couple of hints via his social media that the La Forge element in Picard could be bigger than expected.
The USS Titan-A is helmed by Commodore La Forge's daughter, Ensign Sidney La Forge (played by Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut), but the series also has Ensign Alandra La Forge assisting her father in an as-yet-undisclosed role. Played by Burton's real-life daughter Mica, Alandra might well be an assistant to her father but as with many things, this is unconfirmed.
Speaking of family, we also know of the return of Mr and Mrs Troi (Riker!). Season three will see Jean-Luc and his former first officer butt heads. This was noted at the recent promotion event when paralleled to the friction in the relationship between Picard and Beverly Crusher indicating that not everything has been smooth sailing between the former shipmates.
At several points in the trailer, it can be seen that Riker, while casually attired, is wearing his captain's pips accompanying both Picard and Worf, perhaps indicating their mission is on behalf of Starfleet.
