Although she comes in at the bottom half of the list, Lwaxana is one of the better recurring characters on the show. She’s brilliantly portrayed by the late Majel Barrett-Roddenberry. Her relationship with Picard while comedic is subtle and layered. Overall, the two characters have enjoyable chemistry.

Lwaxana even has a stand out episode. This is where we discover a trauma in her past, the death of her daughter. What follows is a realistic portrayal of a post-traumatic disorder. This is from a character who, up till then, had offered mostly comedic relief.
