Star Trek: The Next Generation - Ranking Every Major Character Worst To Best

9. Geordi La Forge

Star Trek The Next Generation Season 1
Paramount

Geordi La Forge is a character who stays pretty static throughout the series. He always has trouble with women, he always has to explain human eccentricities to Data. And, most importantly, he’s always on hand when the writers need an exposition dump.

But, there are a lot of Geordi-focused episodes that are very good. Geordi was a character that showed a lot of vulnerability throughout the show. He seemed a little more human than your average, stoic, Starfleet officer.

Throughout the series, Geordi got angry, he got embarrassed, he lost his cool. He also had romances, and enduring friendships (he and Data were ride-or-die). In general, he was much easier to identify with as a character. Riker or Worf might storm into a battle without a second thought. But, Geordi's vulnerability is what made him such an authentic character.
