Star Trek The Next Generation: Where Are They Now?

A later addition to the Next Generation line up, Michelle Forbes’ Ensign Ro Laren remains well-remembered as one of the series’ more serious and cynical characters, and for good reason—her backstory attempts admirably to tackle the issue of displaced peoples and their place in colonizing societies, a heavy ask for any actor.

Forbes however did a solid job of combining Ro’s frustration and anger with genuine humanity, and created an unforgettable crew member in the process. As well as garnering her roles in the likes of Alias, Battlestar Glactica, and Prison Break, the role saw Forbes go on to star as the villainous Maryann in season two of HBO’s gory megahit True Blood, and the positive responses this performance garnered saw her gain main roles in the likes of 2012’s The Killing, 2015’s final Hunger Games instalment, and the same year’s The Returned and Powers.

Most recently, she can be seen in role of Ellen Becker in the TV series Treadstone, based on the blockbuster Bourne franchise.
