Star Trek Voyager Cast: Where Are They Now?
16. John Rhys Davies
Appearing at the end of Voyager's third season and twice in its fourth, John Rhys Davies lent his considerable talents by portraying the Italian Maestro himself, Leonardo Da Vinci.
Almost immediately after his work on the show, Davies would fly to New Zealand where of course he would immortalise himself in the eyes of an entirely new generation of Tolkien fans. Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy co-stars Davies as Gimli, son of Gloin. He had appeared in many film and television roles before this as well.
He is one of the many Trek alumni to have voiced a role in Disney's Gargoyles cartoon, portraying King Hamlet. He is also well known for his role as Sallah in the Indiana Jones series.
He is still working today. He appeared in a biblical film in 2016 named The Apostle Peter: Redemption, ten years after appearing in another biblical film called One Night with the King. While perhaps he will always now be best known as that Dwarf from Middle-Earth, his time on the holodeck with Janeway stands as some of the more enjoyable moments of Voyager.
