Star Wars: 10 Reasons Why Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi Is Awesome

7. Reva Is A Fantastic Villain...

Reva Sevander (Moses Ingram), who is one of the Grand Inquisitors, is one hell of a fascinating villain who only gets better as the series progresses.

Buoyed by Ingram's unsettling performance, Reva is a thoroughly intimidating villain in the early episodes and she always carries a heavy sense of menace but all the way through, there's a sense that there's a lot more going on beneath the surface. And of course, the reveal of her true motives did eventually come along and, oh boy, was it a complete shock.

The reveal that she was one of the Jedi Younglings in the Order 66 flashback from Part I was foreseeable, but the fact that she was, this whole time, just trying to get close to Darth Vader in order to murder him in revenge for killing her friends was a fiendishly effective rug-pull that added a ton of depth to the character.

But refreshingly, the series stopped short of turning Reva in an antihero and trying to hastily redeem her. Yes, she spared Luke (Grant Feely) at the end but she was still very much a villain, just a somewhat sympathetic one with more layers than it first appeared.

Still, the ending hinted at a more positive future for her, which was a nice display of the optimism that has made Star Wars such an uplifting franchise. All in all, Reva was a smashing villain for the series.
