Star Wars: 10 Reasons Why Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi Is Awesome

5. Kid Leia!

10 year-old Princess Leia is what we never knew we needed.

This was largely kept under wraps beforehand, but yes, Princess Leia is a huge part of this show. Luke, who Obi-Wan was watching over on Tatooine, barely appears, but kid Leia is just great.

So much of the time child characters are insufferably annoying, yet the young Leia avoids any of those pitfalls. She's a completely heart-warming presence who also adds a huge amount to the story; not only is she an active, helpful figure (rather than a hinderance, which is what kid characters often are!) but she has a very moving, well-realized dynamic with Obi-Wan.

In fact, this makes Obi-Wan's death in A New Hope - before he is reunited with the adult Leia - feel even sadder in retrospect. So, Leia's inclusion was not only a lovely way to link the miniseries to the films, but it actually added to the beloved Original Trilogy.
