Star Wars: 10 Reasons Why Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi Is Awesome

4. The Ferociously Tense Action

As Star Wars stories go, Obi-Wan Kenobi is fairly low-key on the action front and that's absolutely fine. One of the show's greatest strengths is the way it puts character development first.

But rest assured, there's still a fair amount of action, and for the most part it absolutely rocks. The set-pieces in the earlier episodes are especially interesting because Obi-Wan is still disconnected from the Force and uses a blaster instead of his lightsaber, making these moments particularly stressful to watch.

Even when Kenobi's back to his former glory, the action still remains brutally suspenseful. Thanks to the high emotional stakes running through the whole series, and Deborah Chow's tense, involving direction, nearly all of the show's action is gripping as all hell.

As for the rematch of the century, between Obi-Wan and Vader? It'll give you chills. It's absolutely incredible. That being said, Reva vs. Vader in Episode V is similarly fantastic and shouldn't be forgotten.

It's impressive that this was such a suspenseful show even though, given that this was a prequel, viewers knew perfectly well several of the characters were going to survive.
