Star Wars: 10 Things That Need To Happen In Andor

6. What Specifically Influences Cassian Andor To Join The Fight

As already alluded to, much of the show focused on Diego Luna's titular anti-hero will centre around precisely what inspired the eventual Rebel hero to join the good fight and how he went from desperate thief to, as Tony Gilroy noted, "the most passionate person who's going to give themselves to save the galaxy" in 2016's Rogue One.

Well, the news of the show focusing on how young Cassian's homeworld was actually completely obliterated by the Galactic Empire seems to be a good place to start, with Luna himself also noting at Star Wars Celebration when discussing why the story being told in Andor is relevant to the world we're experiencing today, "This is the story of someone that probably, at the beginning, (who) didn't know he was capable or had not acknowledged that he was capable of (anything)."

With the show also being set to thrust Cassian into an uncertain time that is described as being "filled with danger, deception and intrigue", the idea of being forced to move on from your home and how that "shapes you as a person", as Luna himself put it, will clearly be a key factor in Andor's journey towards Rebellion.
