Star Wars: 8 Best Ahsoka Tano Fights To Get You Hyped For Her Mandalorian Debut

2. Ahsoka Vs. Darth Vader - Rebels: Season 2, Episode 22

Star Wars Clone Wars Ahsoka

This fight was everything that fans wanted.

Ahsoka facing off against her old master is so grounded in the emotional pain that both parties have endured up until this point. The dichotomy between the twisted, evil Darth Vader and the rogue, benevolent Ahsoka is expertly visualised and crafted as these two once closest of friends clash in one of the best scenes in the series.

It is one of the most climactic moments in the entirety of Rebels, with the pain so prevalent in Ahsoka's voice and movement as she comes to terms with seeing the twisted shadow of her old master up close and personal. Vader is as terrifying as ever, but the duality between the Emperor's puppet and Anakin Skywalker is crystal clear as he is presented with the sobering reality of eliminating his old apprentice.

Ahsoka promises to avenge Anakin and when Vader reminds her that revenge isn't the Jedi way, she reminds him that she is no Jedi. With this, we know exactly the mindset Ahsoka is in, driven by the grief of what her master has become, she fights without rules, only to take down the greatest of adversaries. She isn't victorious, but she does catch a glimpse of her old master as she slices Vader's helmet open in some of the most heartbreaking, beautiful few seconds in Star Wars.

There are so many brilliant factors that make this scene one of the best that it is impossible to do them all justice. The animation, the voice acting, the visual setting and the music all deserve countless words on how well they were executed.
