Recently, Leslye Headland, the Emmy Nominated co-creator of the hit Netflix thriller/comedy Russian Doll, signed to be the showrunner for a Star Wars Disney Plus series. Though few details were revealed about her show, we do know that it will be female centric and focus on "a different part of the Star Wars timeline."

Could Headland's project be the Ahsoka series? Having Ahsoka as the lead would make it female centered, and, although Ahoksa and the Rebels cast exist in a similar time frame as the Skywalker Saga, Ahsoka has explored time travel-like concepts through the World Between Worlds.

Sending characters we know to a different time in the Star Wars Universe could be a good way to introduce audiences to unfamiliar settings. The search for Ezra could take Ahsoka to a different time, and Headland, who masterfully handles time travel-like shenanigans in Russian Doll, could be the one to tell it.

Regardless of whether Headland's show and Ahsoka's are one and the same, both are shaping up to be exciting new Star Wars properties.
