Star Wars Rebels Season 3: 10 Most Anticipated Moments

Well come on, did you really think anything else was going to take the top spot? After eighteen years and three duels, it looks like the end of Obi-Wan and Maul’s longstanding... trying to kill each other-ness will draw to a close on Tatooine. It’s only taken six years since Maul made a comeback.

But while Rebels does still have the ability to surprise, this definitely looks like it’s the end for Maul. He was originally supposed to be killed by Darth Vader at the end of Season 2, and we’ve already seen him killed in the Legends continuity by Vader, Luke Skywalker, and Obi-Wan. Basically, the guy’s marked for death. Especially since a duel between Kenobi and Maul on Tatooine was seen in the non-canon comic book Old Wounds. You can guess how that one turned out.

So with the outcome pretty much sewn up, the big question is how much, if anything will be drawn from Old Wounds. The Lucasfilm Story Group love to bring in Legends content, and it was already an influence on Maul’s design in the Clone Wars series. The jury’s out on whether or not Uncle Owen’s going to blow Maul’s head off again though.
