16. Hondo Ohnaka
Star Wars is full of wacky degenerates and notorious criminals, but few can claim to be as hilariously entertaining as intergalactic pirate king Hondo Ohnaka.
Introduced as a wildly eccentric plunderer and thief, Hondo made an instant impression when he clashed with Obi-Wan (a future frenemy) and Anakin, and at one point was even able to kidnap and imprison Count Dooku.
With his cynical outlook on life and sarcastic reactions to basically everything around him, Hondo proves that just because you're a bad guy, that doesn't mean you can't get people to root for you.
Of course, there's more to Hondo than his career choice, which becomes evident as the series goes on. He forms a tenuous bond with Obi-Wan and even faces Grievous down with the help of some Jedi younglings.
A complex and entertaining key player, the only problem with Hondo is that he's not around nearly enough as he should have been.
