Stargate: 10 Times The Show Made Huge Mistakes

8. Re-using Shots

Stargate Wormhole Opening
MGM

In any series, it makes perfect sense to save money wherever is possible. This counts double when a show, like Stargate, has a heavy CGI budget, featuring a beautiful wormhole opening and closing in almost every episode. There is only a small issue when the exact scenes that are re-used are episode specific.

In the first season episode Solitudes (this episode will return on this list!), there is a standard shot of the Gate opening. The scene occurs as the last of the rescue teams, searching for Carter and O'Neill, return to the SGC.

If you look closely at the image, you will see that while the Gate opening is a standard shot, the room around it is full of items covered in tarpaulin and cloth. That is because this scene is re-used from Children of the Gods - the pilot of the show, where everything was packed away after the events of the movie.

It is a blink and you'll miss it moment!
