Stargate Universe: Where Are They Now?

As the most recent spin-off from Stargate to appear on television, where have these folks gone?

Stargate Universe
MGM TV

Stargate Universe was, unfortunately, no one's favourite version of Stargate. Perhaps slightly more fairly, it was simply the least popular spin off from SG-1 (are we counting Stargate: Infinity? Does anyone?)

The problem with this is that Stargate Universe is really bloody good, despite the fact that it was cancelled after only two seasons. It was a victim of poor ratings, with this being, most likely, down to the fact that it copied almost wholesale the style of Ronald D. Moore and David Eick's re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series.

Even the central plot of each is similar. BSG deals with a fleet that is cut off from everything they've known, trying to find a new home. Stargate Universe is all about a group of lost people aboard a ship in a distant galaxy, trying to find a way home.

Hmm.

Still, it was not a complete lift of that show. The writing was strong in Stargate Universe, with a list of excellent acting talent on show. While some names were already bigger than others by the time the show began, it was not a one man show by any means.

Follow on with this list to find out what the stars have been up to since.

9. Lou Diamond Phillips

Colonel Telford was a major thorn in everyone's side aboard the Destiny. His power struggle with Colonel Young led to some incredibly tense stand-offs, though his abuse of the Ancient communication stones allowed him to conduct an affair with Young's wife.

Diamond Phillips is a Filipino-American actor, and his first engagement after Stargate Universe was to compete on Celebrity Cook-Off, which he won, gaining $50,000 for charity.

He went on then to co-star in the series Longmire, where he played the role of Henry Standing-Bear, a Native American deputy. He is also an accomplished voice actor, starring in four episodes of a radio play of The Twilight Zone. He is a singer as well, appearing on Broadway.

Though he has experienced some legal trouble in the past, he has also been an activist - appearing in a NoH8 campaign LGBT Equality campaign in 2020.
