Stranger Things: 15 Best Easter Eggs (So Far)

7. The Exorcist

Stranger Things King Mob
Netflix

Will's possession in the second season may have taken many of its cues from '80s horror flicks like The Thing and Aliens, but it all concluded with a scene that was eerily reminiscent of the most famous horror film of all time - one that wasn't actually released in the 1980s.

As Joyce, Nancy and Jonathan restrained Will on the bed, they flooded the cabin with as much heat as possible - turning up the heaters and lighting the fire all in the hopes that it would expel the remnants of the Shadow Monster that remained inside of him. Of course, the demon within got violent and lashed out, attacking Joyce in the process and the whole thing got very Exorcist very fast.

With flickering lights, demonic screams and Will looking more frightening than ever, the scene undoubtedly owes a lot to the 1973 film and, as a result, it was every bit as frightening.
