Stranger Things 2 relied pretty heavily on Will's subconscious connection the Mind Flayer, and it wasted absolutely no time making us aware of that.
As the young boy found himself unable to shake this shadow monster, he had a vision in which he stood in the doorway of his own house, looking out the red sky - only to see the smoky demon in the clouds.
This shot, and the Season 2 poster that it made its way onto, bears an unmistakable resemblance to a scene from Steven Spielberg's groundbreaking 1977 film Close Encounters of The Third Kind - during which little boy Barry opens his front door only to be engulfed by yellow light.
It was a stroke of genius, and one that ended up enhancing the story that the Duffer Brothers were trying to tell.
