5. Is Dr Brenner Really Alive?

At the end of Stranger Things season one, Dr Brenner - AKA Eleven's "Papa", the man who had locked her up and experimented on her all her life - was seemingly killed. It was a surprising development as you would expect this hugely important character to stick around. Well, while Brenner doesn't return from the dead in season two, there are several hints that we haven't seen the last of him.

In particular, Eleven's vision of Brenner in episode 7 said he wasn't as dead as she thought, but given the fact that this was one of Kali's tricks, it's hard to trust this information. Still, though the series itself has been careful to keep things ambiguous, producer Dan Cohen let slip the plans for his return in a recent interview. "It now seems clear that Brenner is alive, Brenner is out there," he commented.

Another question is whether Brenner is actually Eleven's father or not? We know her mother, Terry Ives, was a participant of MKUltra under Brenner's supervision when she became pregnant, after all. Plus, how could Stranger Things, a show that loves to dabble in Star Wars references, shirk the opportunity to have its own "I am your father" moment?
