If any show defines "Netflix binge-watching", it has to be Stranger Things. Almost instantly, the Duffer Brother's magnum opus became the hottest show on Netflix (or any streaming service for that matter). And with Season 4 coming this year after a two-year hiatus, fans are drooling like a Demogorgon to see more.
But what makes Stranger Things such a phenomenon? Yes, it's incredible to watch a slow-burn mystery transform into a cosmic battle between good and evil. And there's no question nobody does 1980 movies homages better than this series. But what really makes Stranger Things special is the characters. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't care what happens to the town of Hawkins. Viewers come back every season because they want to see Eleven being a psychic badass, Dustin being a Never-ending Story-loving nerd, or Barb being... Barb.
But if you haven't watched the show a while, it's easy to forget some key players, especially since the show aired half a decade ago. Even if you feel like you know Stranger Things inside-out and Upside-Down, there's still a couple of faces you may not recognise.
