5. Joyce Struggles With VHS-C (Chapter 3)

Here's a gag that'll surely resonate with anyone who grew up in the 80s or early 90s: Joyce calls up her sweet-yet-foppish boyfriend Bob, played by Sean freaking Astin no less, to ask him how to watch the Halloween video tape from his fancy new camcorder, in order to try and figure out which local boys assaulted Will.

She tells him, "The tape...it's tiny...it's shrunk", referring to the fact that most 80s camcorders used the smaller VHS-C format. It's arguably the series' best nostalgic joke, because it's not overtly tipping its hat to pop-culture but instead gently mocking both Joyce's ignorance and now-archaic technology that seems absolutely absurd by modern standards.
