3. Eleven

Eleven was the heart and soul of Stranger Things 1, a position she only somewhat retains in Season 2. It is still her story in many ways, but she is largely separated from the rest of the characters and her journey takes a very frustrating deviation.

That said, Millie Bobby Brown is again a wonder in the role, and there's a lot of genuine emotion to be found in her relationships with Mike and more primarily Hopper. She wrings plenty of laughs through that arc too, and powers up late in the season to become even more of a Jean Grey-esque badass.
