Stranger Things Season 3: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
5. Steve Harrington
It says a lot when a character who was originally designed as nothing more than a one-dimensional obstacle to keep Jonathan and Nancy apart ends up becoming more relevant to the plot than both of them, but that's the incredibly well-executed evolution of Steve Harrington for you.
Steve's status as a fan-favourite was solidified from around the second half of the first season, but when he grew into an a surprisingly affectionate guardian figure for the kids in Season 2, 'Mom Steve' became a sensation, held up by fans as a shining example of the excellent character development that the show was capable of pulling off.
That all continued into this season as he proved to be one of its standout characters, completing his transformation from high school social climber into Hawkins' unlikely hero. Of course, it was made all the better by the fact that he was once again paired with Dustin and his humorous and heartfelt chemistry with newcomer Robin offered us one of the season's best moments - one that highlighted how far Steve had truly come.
