16. Max Mayfield
Another character that appeared a lot and accomplished very little, Max's main purpose this season was to teach El that she could be more than just somebody's girlfriend. Admirable in theory, it would have meant a lot more if she hadn't made it her single purpose to get between her and Mike - all while painting his genuine concerns for her safety out to be the acts of some possessive controlling boyfriend.
Considering that Billy was at the heart of this season's story, it would have made more sense to explore Max's relationship with her brother more, rather than shoehorning her into a storyline that she had nothing to do with. How many scenes did the siblings actually share this season?
