Stranger Things Season 4: 10 Crazy Fan Theories That Could Happen

7. The Doctor Is Back In

Speaking of time travel, let’s take a look back at season 1 where we learnt that Doctor Martin Brenner was the one responsible for giving Eleven her catchy name. Oh, and for ripping a hole in the fabric of space-time, of course. The life of the series' antagonist was seemingly brought to an end in the season’s finale where we saw him get jumped by the skeletal Demogorgon; but since we never saw a body we always expected something had been left unsaid.

It was then during the runtime of season 2 where Brenner’s life was brought back into question. While threatening the life of a former lab employee, Eleven learns that the mad scientist is still alive, with his location being unknown, at least to her. Fast forward to the end-credit scene of season 3 and we hear the newly established Russian antagonists refer to an American they have locked up.

Although most fans seemed to think that this was a reference to the capture and survival of Jim Hopper, who we see working away at a Russian internment camp; others believe that it was actually a reference to the great Doctor himself. It would explain how the Russians came to know everything they do about the world’s connection to the upside down, right?

And since this would bring Stranger Things full circle, I hope the theory pans out.
