No spoilers here, but rest assured that Volume 2 concludes with quite the spectacular setup for the fifth and final season.

The stakes and scale feels so high throughout season four that it's tough to consider where the Duffers could possibly take things for the future, but they've come up with an idea that's immediately compelling and feels like an organic extension of the story so far.

One suspects season five might rectify at least a few of the biggest issues fans and critics had about season four overall, and given the show's track record to date, it's looking likely that Stranger Things will end up going out on top - or close to it.

It's just a shame that, with season five not yet filming, we'll be waiting a good while for it.

Though with the Duffers already confirming that the final season will most likely feature a time jump, at least the cast's noticeable aging should be less of a distracting issue.
