Supergirl Season 4: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'The House Of L'

2. A Bigger Role For Miss Teschmacher

Another character that benefited from the cohesively-planned storylining in this week's installment was Eve Teschmacher. The lovably quirky assistant at CatCo Media and Lena Luthor's trusted partner pulled the most unexpected of all heel turns in last week's adventure when she turned on Lena and pointed a gun at her former boss, revealing that she had been working with Lex for "forever" - a vague thing to say no doubt, but this week, it was revealed that her claims were true.

A longtime Lex superfan, Eve showed up as the criminal mastermind was being escorted to prison - an encounter that led Lex to arrange a meeting between them. This allowed the writers to once again carefully plot the episode's narrative around some of the most significant events that have taken place over Supergirl's run, as it was revealed that it was actually Lex's idea for her to become Cat Grant's assistant (a role that allowed her to make her on-screen debut in Season 2). Though she wasn't thrilled about the idea, Lex promised that he would eventually make her "undeniable".

As the narrative progressed, that's exactly what she became. Through her innovative ideas and her cunning plans, she became as close to an equal to Lex as he would ever allow and he was even, dare we say it, impressed by her tenacity.

It was a surprisingly compelling journey for the character who has, in all honesty, been overlooked for far too long and it's nice to see Andrea Brooks getting to shine with a much juicier role as Miss Teschmacher has officially become a player on the show's metaphorical board. Whatever she does next is anyone's guess, but it's sure going to be entertaining.
