Supergirl Season 4: 6 Major Questions We Have After The Midseason Premiere

3. Have We Seen The Last Of Agent Liberty?

The first half of Supergirl Season 4 introduced us to the mysterious Agent Liberty - a villain that the show's promotional material had been teasing us with for quite some time. With his all-black attire, concealed voice and intimidating mask, Liberty looked like a force to be reckoned with. But underneath all that, he was merely Ben Lockwood, a family man that had been pushed too far one too many times.

However, his arrest was unexpected, to say the least, and turned the show on its head entirely. Now that he is currently behind bars, we're left wondering if this has abruptly brought an end to Liberty's arc. While the fact that the world now knows his true identity has seemingly inspired a lot of humans and could, in effect, inspire someone else to take up his anti-alien mission, we can't help but wonder if we have seen the last of Lockwood.

You would think that Sam Witwer's position as a series regular would ensure that Liberty will stick around for the remainder of the season. But, given that the Arrowverse shows have changed up their cast midseason before, and the fact that he didn't appear in the midseason premiere, that is no longer a guarantee.

Though the show has struggled in the past when it came to crafting villains, Agent Liberty was the perfect example of a strong antagonist. He was deeply flawed and morally-conflicted, scorned by something that he once defended and this ultimately made him a frighteningly effective threat. It would be a shame if he didn't return.
