Supergirl Season 4: 6 Ups & 3 Downs From ‘Red Dawn’

3. Supergirl Vs. Red Daughter

The CW

Ever since the Season 3 finale, in which Kara used the Harun-El to split Reign and Sam into two separate entities and inadvertently created another version of herself in the process, fans have been eager to see her go up against her own doppelganger. Well, after almost a year of waiting, they finally got their wish in this week's installment.

In 'Red Dawn', Supergirl discovered that the Red Daughter was obsessed with her real-life identity (Kara Danvers) and, as a result, tracked her to Midvale, where she rescued her adoptive mother Eliza before engaging in an all-out war with herself.

While it was somewhat short-lived, it's hard to deny that the fight exceeded viewers' expectations. With plenty of flips, laser beams, and mid-air combat, the clash of the Supergirls was a visual treat that allowed both versions to showcase what they could do while establishing dominance over each other.

It also deserves credit for having a surprising winner and, though the episode's conclusion unfortunately suggests that this may be the last we see of the Red Daughter (more on that later), it certainly looked like it was setting up a rematch for some point later down the line.

Front row tickets to that one, please.
