Supergirl Season 4: 8 Ups & 2 Downs From 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?'

3. The Focus On Lena Luthor

If there were a weekly award for Supergirl's most valuable player, Lena Luthor is, without a doubt, this week's undisputed winner.

Spreading herself incredibly thin, Lena put her all into figuring out how to successfully complete the engineering of her Harun-El-based drug as she tried to save both James and Lex's respective lives. So, what originally started out as a time-consuming and intricate process to determine whether or not she could give humans super-powers soon turned into an urgent race-against-the-clock for results that could save the lives of the two most important men in her life.

The situation provided her with a lot of quality time with Lex and, as a result, we were given the opportunity to see just how the siblings interacted with each other. Their initial sarcastic animosity paved the way for some genuinely touching scenes as they attempted to re-connect and, quite frankly, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who wasn't reaching for the tissues during their conversation about the contrast between Lena's and Lex's respective mothers.

Some were initially worried that the arrival of the more-famous Luthor sibling would overshadow Lena, but instead, it only highlighted what a valuable asset she is to the show. Katie McGrath did an amazing job here as the L-Corp owner once again came through for her friends, managing to save James' life, as well as her own brother's.

Although Lex's betrayal undoubtedly stung her, we should be prepared to see her once again go from strength-to-strength as she looks to prove who the more formidable Luthor truly is. Don't bet against her.
