22. The Glasses

Clark Kent wears glasses to create a distance of sorts between his two secret identities, with some comics revealing that they actually change the colour and shape of his eyes. He also takes on a slightly more stooped posture and timid personality to help hide the fact that he's Superman, so why then is Kara displaying all of those traits before becoming Supergirl? It could be that this is her personality in the show, but that still doesn't explain why someone with all of her abilities would need to wear glasses. However, the synopsis points out that the 24 year old has spent years simply hiding her abilities, so this could be a result of that. It also makes the glasses easier to explain when Kara does become Supergirl!
