19. A Grown Up Jimmy Olsen

When the buff Mehcad Brooks was cast as Jimmy Olsen, comic book fans started fretting. It wasn't necessarily because he's not white, but because it was clear that this version of Jimmy wouldn't be the nerdy best pal of Clark Kent from the source material. The trailer however makes it clear that this is still Jimmy; he's just grown up and become "James"! Comic books tend to keep their characters stuck in one period of the lives, so it's actually a pretty bold and interesting move by Supergirl to focus on James' life after he's moved on from being just a lowly photographer for The Daily Planet. He'll be CatCo's art director in the series, and still seems to have a thing for ties (just regular ones instead of the bow variety).
