Supernatural: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One
3. Jody Mills
In the Winchesters' long battle against the forces of evil, few allies stood by their side for as long as, or fought as fiercely as Sheriff Jody Mills. Introduced in Season Five as the Sheriff of Bobby Singer's hometown of Sioux Falls, Jody was initially antagonistic towards Bobby and the boys. However, after some personal tragedy involving the town's dead returning as zombies, she became aware of the supernatural, and the roles the three men played in fighting it.
Over the years Jody would become incredibly close to Bobby and the boys, becoming a mother figure to the latter. Her role in their lives only grew stronger after the tragic death of Bobby, with Jody filling the role of the reliable parental figure in their lives. Whether it be aiding them on a hunt, offering them personal advice or even cooking them a home-cooked meal, Jody was always there for them. It wasn't just the Winchesters that she cared for though, as she gradually took in several young girls over the years - Alex Jones, Claire Novak, Patience Turner and Kaia Nieves - and raised them as her own.
A bona-fide badass, Jody took to Hunting like a duck to water and it wasn't long before she was a capable and experienced Hunter in her own right. She was also one of the few to succeed in balancing Hunting with a permanent home and a (mostly) stable personal life. In an uncertain world, she provided support and stability to everyone around her.
